Deerhurst Presbyterian Church originated in June of 1933 from a neighborhood Bible study under the direction of Walter Bickerton. Mr. Bickerton was a mission church founder working with the Presbyterian Church of North America. The Presbytery officially chartered Deerhurst as a church on March 17, 1935.

The Rev. Dr. Henry W. Eddy served as our first pastor with Sunday services held at his home, 58 Irving Terrace. In December, 1939 the first unit of the present structure was dedicated with 80 members registered. Eleven years later an educational wing was added. To accommodate further growth our present santuary was completed and dedicated in June 1956.

From its humble beginnings, the church has grown to a membership of approximately 400 while maintaining the warmth and caring of a large family. Seeing to the needs of its members, the community and others in various areas of the world, has been part of its dynamic history. It can be said that the people of Deerhurst Presbyterian Church are "always on the move." Possessing a thoughtful and active faith, the community has always sought new ways of living out Christ's teachings.

You are invited to share in this rich history and tradition. It is hoped that our quality of life and service to Christ will grow stronger as your needs and gifts find expression among us.
